Three is the Magic Number

Did you know that three years ago yesterday, you were all celebrating and sharing in our special day? Did you know that we think of that day often and feel so blessed with everyone who could be there to share in our lives then and continue to share in our lives now? Well, now you know.

Monday marked our three year anniversary. Last year we celebrated in Bali, Indonesia and we never would have guessed that for our third year that we would be taken into the desert (literally). What a wonderful journey we are on and how blessed we are to be celebrating another year. We reflected that life hasn't been a cake walk and although there are certainly things we wish we could change, we wouldn't take nothing for our journey now.

We spotted a quaint dinner spot and knew just where we would spend our third year dinner. A cute little couple who had been married 41 years sat next to us and shared some of their wisdom. They said, noticing my belly...or was it my appetite, "the best thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother and the best thing a mother can do for her children is to love their father." Amen!

The waiter even surprised us with a special "anniversary treat" (seen above before it was devoured).


We stopped for breakfast and a little early morning scrabble and then we took a stroll of the grounds. Nice view, huh?

We sat creekside and relaxed and recanted our previous year and daydreamed of what's to come for the next year. (thanks for the reccommendation on the chairs, Kelly)

Rich took this picture and I thought it was a great illustration of marriage and many other things in life. Ecclesiastes says "two are better than one, if one falls down, his friend can lift him up." That's like marriage. Most of the time one of us is in need of a little lifting up.
