We donned all the red white and blue we could muster out of our closets and headed to meet Kelly and Brian on our beach cruisers.
When we got to the O'Connor household, lo and behold we found more Americans! Yee Haw!
Main Street was a buzz with activity. We had live patriotic music, iced tea stands, bike decorating contests and a bake sale. There was even a bike parade on Main Street for the kids, but Rich and Brian found a way to participate :) Brian carried our flag proud and between the two of them did three laps with the little ones.
I watched from the sidelines and found a cool spot under the shade and misting system. When you use your fan it almost feels like air conditioning. 114...Bring it! Just get me to a "mister!"
When it was time for our local fireworks show, we headed to Brian and Kelly's house for a dip in the pool and prime, front row seats to the show. Their back yard was a perfect viewing place and we didn't have to battle the rest of Buckeye for a parking spot. We were just across the street from their launching stands.
