Something even a girl can appreciate

Just about the coolest place we've been to on a "fieldtrip." This place just takes the cake AND these people protect and serve our country. I'm talking about an airforce base!! A little hesitant at first, our little pilot warmed up quite nicely and by the end of our time had developed a sort of swagger that can only come from hanging out with fighter pilots all morning. I'm gonna say his call sign would definitely be "Thor."

Off we go into the wild blue yonder!!! I wonder if these pilots ever get sick of the gimmicky songs and Top Gun references? Here we are at the 309th Fighter Squadron. Did you know Walt Disney designed some of the squadron logos during WWII for morale? Yep, 309th is one of them. They are the Wild Ducks...do you see the striking resemblance to Donald?

Went to the end of the runway to watch a few jets come home and then...

We get debriefed to see about 10 F-16's take off two by two one right after the other. Really loud and really cool. I asked "Metal" if he ever gets sick of watching them take off and land and he said "no."

Here's our "Thor" ready for his next mission. He was mesmerized!

Just like "Mr. Jason" at the farm, "Metal" quickly became a person of interest to our little one.

After hitting the locker room to see some guys suit up and head out for their flights, our kiddo began feeling his fighter pilot swagger.

He didn't take his headphones off the whole time, even when we went inside.

These guys love their jobs and praise God that they do! Feeling thankful once again to have been born in the USA, baby!!
